North Shore Players featured members
The entire Carlson family!
Kate & Andrew, and parents Peter & Wendy

|
The arrival of this family in the fall of 2006 was somewhat of a blessing for the North Shore Players. Andrew and Kate both had parts in our youth theatre play I Want My Mummy which they both enjoyed fully. Then in the spring of 2007 production of I Remember Mama the entire family joined in to help fill out our cast of 20. Since then it has been a full speed ahead family participation in all aspects of our organizations activities. The two kids became regular members in all of our youth theatre productions, and may now actually hold the NSP record for the most combined adult and youth theater appearances. Wendy helped with things such as publicity appearances on local cable shows, acting in some plays, co-directing youth theatre shows, participating as a NSP board member, and recently producing a youth theatre show. Peter has helped with both youth and adult theatre shows, and currently is the chair of the Scholarship Committee.
Please refer to the bios below of each of the family members for a full list of their contributions. The North Shore Players are quite lucky that their small family has so willingly become a part of our larger group family. With talents such as theirs, there is no telling what lies ahead.
Andrew Carlson is 11 years old. Andrew's has been in 13 productions with the North Shore Players! Previous productions were Mid-summer Mystery, The Bard is Back, Olivia Twist, The Adventures of Little Red Goldilocks and the Three Pigs of Cinderella, I Remember Mama, Universe and Other Stuff, I Want My Mummy and There' s a Monster in My Closet, What Wast That Sound?, Space Pirates, The Man Who Came to Dinner and most recently as a nerd in Pom-Pom Zombies. Among his favorite NSP productions: The Universe and Other Stuff, The Bard is Back and Space Pirates. Andrew also enjoys playing the alto sax and he is currently learning to play the guitar. Kate Carlson is 14 years old and from Boxford. Kate has been in 13 performances with the North Shore Players! Previous productions were Mid-summer Mystery, The Bard is Back, Olivia Twist, The Adventures of Little Red Goldilocks and the Three Pigs of Cinderella, I Remember Mama, Universe and Other Stuff, I Want My Mummy, There's a Monster in My Closet, Space Pirates and The Man Who Came to Dinner. Among her favorite NSP productions: The Universe and Other Stuff, The Bard is Back and Space Pirates. Kate has been a camp counselor and choreographer in the NSP summer workshops. She has also appeared as Lily St. Regis in Masconomet Middle Schools production of Annie and in Boston Childrens Theatre's production of Fame and will appear as Porita (a step sister) in Cinderella in Masco's upcoming production. Kate also likes to work with her voice coach and takes dance classes with Mariana in Ipswich. Peter Carlson Pete has made several appearance on the North Shore Players Stage. He made his acting debut with I Remember Mama. Pete has also had roles in the Youth Theatre Productions Oliva Twist and Space Pirates and appeared last year in The Man Who Came to Dinner in two roles. He has been on the North Shore Players Scholarship Committee for three years and will become a NSP Nominating Committee member for the 2010/2011 season. Wendy Carlson (Producer) Wendy dabbled in theater in school (mostly as part of the chorus) but always had a love of theater and movies and dreamed of going to Hollywood someday. Her experience with The North Shore Players began in 2006 as a stage mom supporting her musically talented daughter, Kate. She was so caught up in all the excitement the next thing she knew, Wendy was co-directing the Universe and Other Stuff, appearing as Aunt Sigrid in I Remember Mama, coordinating the NSP Summer Theater workshop and a became a NSP Board Member. She has also been on stage as Miss Gallagher in Oliva Twist and a makes a brief cameo as a Parent in Space Pirates. While acting is fun, she prefers being behind the scenes. Although she is often putting her two cents in to the directors, Wendy has found her niche in Producing. She will be NSP president in 2011/2012 season. Wendy is so glad to have found the North Shore Players and wants to thank all the people she has met as part of her experiences. I feel like we are all part of an extended family. You all have a special place in my heart.
